The approach to the George Washington Bridge from I-95, Route 4 and the Palisades Interstate Parkway slows sharply on weekday mornings. Northbound I-80 at the Hackensack River crossing is slow in the evening commute.
For trips to LaGuardia and JFK, crossing the GWB and taking the Cross Bronx is often the shortest route but not always the fastest.
